(Subclass 485) Visa Renamed

From early 2013, the temporary skilled graduate (subclass 485) visa will be renamed the temporary graduate (subclass 485) visa. According to the Department for Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) people can apply for the temporary graduate visa through either the new post study work stream or the graduate work stream (the existing subclass 485 arrangements) provided they meet the specific eligibility requirements.

A DIAC spokesman said that the post study work stream of the subclass 485 will be for international students who lodged their first student visa application after the introduction of the genuine temporary entrant requirement (GTE) on 05 November 2011.
